The
cradle of the Belgian Medical Association originated in Liège.
Indeed in the early seventies young physicians of the medical faculty
of Liège organized bicycle competitions. In the beautiful villages
of Bousalle and Clermont sur Berwinne intensive cycling competitions
were organized for fanatic medical cycling freaks. Since 1986 gradually
more activities were organized in Flandres. At the present time several
recreational and competitive activities are organized in the Northern
and Southern part of the country.
All kinds of activities are organized. Sportive and competitive
events are organized for those who are looking for performance and
achiement. These competitions are subdivided in different categories
according to age (with a special category for ladies and accompanying
persons). The climax are the Championship of Belgium and of course
the world championship. The latter is a unique opportunity to meet
the challenge with our colleagues at an international level
